Civic Coalition for Free and Fair Elections


Twelve non-governmental organizations, representing various fields of interest (human rights, mass media, local public administration, law, public policies, etc.), are hereby announcing the formation of the Civic Coalition for Free and Fair Elections.

The Coalition's mission is to contribute to a free, fair, transparent and democratic organization of elections to the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova; to consolidate the civil society in order to ensure an informed choice by citizens; to observe the rights of voters and the principle of equality of participants in the election process.

The Coalition will be guided in its activity by the Charter of Free and Fair Elections, developed by the initiative group, which sets the principles and standards of electoral behavior recommended to parties participating in the elections: representatives of power, election candidates, the mass media, NGOs, etc.

The Coalition operates on the principles of voluntary participation and equality of the rights of all members. A non-governmental organization can become member of the Coalition if it accepts the Regulation and the Charter of Free and Fair Elections. NGOs are hereby invited to attend the next meeting of the Coalition, which will take place on May 11 at 16:00, at the CONTACT Center (str. Bucuresti, 83).
