Election monitoring and assistance - local elections of 25 May 2003 (ongoing)

The project has envisioned assistance to the Central Electoral Commission and other electoral bodies, assistance in form of advise and training to the electoral contestants, the monitoring of the electoral campaign practices and procedures, the compilation of a comprehensive electronic data base of election related materials in Romanian and English, and the design, production and distribution of printed and video voter education materials. The main outcome of the project is a general monitoring report on the local elections of 25 May 2003 that is to be produced in June-July 2003.
The project is funded by the US Embassy in Moldova.

Political and legislative comments and Governance and Democracy E-Journal (ongoing)

As of February 2003, through a grant from the National Endowment for Democracy, ADEPT has started a project on strengthening political parties and the decision-making process in Moldova through regular political, legislative and public policy process monitoring. This comes in form of weekly political and legislative comments and the publication of a bi-monthly Governance and Democracy E-journal. The comments and the E-journal are mainly targeted at Moldovan decision-makers, political parties, policy analysts and NGOs. However, wider public access to these is ensured through their regular posting on ADEPT's web site.
