Decrees
Under two presidential decrees published on July 3, 2009, the renunciation of Moldovan citizenship by 206 persons was approved. Under another decree, the Moldovan citizenship was awarded to 4 persons (born in Ukraine and Uzbekistan).
Under a presidential decree, the Labour Glory Order was awarded to Valeriu Renita, director-general of the state-run News Agency Moldpres.

Appreciation of Government’s work
Participating in the enlarged sitting of the executive, the acting Moldovan President said that despite the world economic crisis and political crisis which hit Moldova, the Government managed to control all social economic compartments, honouring its social and financial commitments. The chief of state noted the fall of Gross Domestic Product by about 7 percent, industrial output by 25 percent, exports by 21.4 percent and imports by 34 percent, and this cut down the budget collections and collections to social funds. According to the president, the state must protect domestic economic agents against internal and external disloyal competition, and clear and simple fiscal requirements shall be set. Vladimir Voronin criticised the work of the National Agency for the Protection of Competition and Tax Inspectorate, demanding a 10-percent cut of the inspectorate’s personnel.
Development of some districts
The incumbent president of Moldova has chaired a sitting on development prospect of localities from the rayons of Straseni, Calarasi and Nisporeni, which heard a research by the governmental commission created for this purpose. According to the research, the three territorial administrative units face a very difficult situation in all areas and have a development level inferior to majority of Moldovan rayons. The governmental commission worked out concept proposals for the future social-economic development programme that will cover several development directions: economic-investment; infrastructure; development of agriculture and land relations; environment; development of social-cultural sector. The president insisted that residents from the given rayons shall be advised in connection with this programme. At the same time, regrets and queries were raised, as local public administration authorities from some localities in the rayon of Nisporeni ruled by the opposition would obstruct some social projects.
