Biographical Data

Born on January 9, 1951, in Ustia village, Dubasari rayon. University education.

Professional activity

• 1966–1967, the Veterinary and Zootechnics College from Carmanova, Grigoriopol rayon;
• 1968–1969, electrician and locksmith, at the coal mine no. 5/13 Toskovka, Lugansk region;
• 1969–1972, served as a military in Budapest, Hungary;
• 1972–1973, radio and TV electrician in Dubasari town, Moldova;
• 1973–1977, student at the State Pedagogical Institute from Tiraspol, the department of physics and mathematics;
• 1977–1979, lecturer at the State Pedagogical Institute from Tiraspol, the department of physics and mathematics;
• 1980–1983, post-graduate/inferior scientific researcher, the Institute of non-ferrous metallurgy “I. Bardin” from Moscow;
• 1983–2009, superior lecturer, docent/reader at the Chair of Physics of the Tiraspol State University transferred to Chisinau;
• 1988–1992, pro-dean of the department of physics and mathematics of the Tiraspol State University. He has published over 30 scientific articles in the area of physics of metals and applying the radioactive isotopes.

Public activity

• 1984–1990, Lawyer at the Tiraspol Court;
• 1989–1992, Popular Front, member of the Republican Council in the Tiraspol section;
• 1990–1993, he founds the first non-governmental association — the Committee for Human Rights from Transnistria in the Tiraspol-based section of the Popular Front, and he pursues monitoring offences against humanity made by the spies of the former KGB and the separatist regime created by the “ALPHA” group, masked as cossacks;
• 02.06.92–21.08.92 — politically detained together with the “ILASCU” group;
• 1993–2009, the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Moldova, chaiman (elected in 1993, 1998, 2006).
