PCRM is a party of true internationalists

“No other political party in Moldova promotes ideas of polyethnic tolerance like the PCRM, which is the only party of true internationalists.” Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin, chairman of PCRM, delivered such a statement while meeting ethno-cultural organisations from Moldova on March 28. The PCRM chairman said that unlike the ruling party, other parties which participate in the electoral campaign for parliamentary elections did not afford the luxury of including Russians, Gagauzians, Ukrainians, Bulgarians, and Jews in their lists. This civic cohesion and comprehension which rule our society since 2001 must be maintained, said Voronin, calling for voting the peace, understanding and stability on April 5. We do not elect the party, we elect the power and the way this authority will look like depends on all of us, the president stressed. (Source: Moldpres)

PLDM about PCRM “internationalism”

In connection with restrictions to entry the Republic of Moldova faced by Romanian citizens at the Proute border, Vlad Filat, member to the Parliament and chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM), appealed Saturday to Prime Minister Zinaida Greceanii saying as follows: Under the law on status of the member of the Parliament, I submit this interpellation. Starting March 25, 2009, the border guard services at the border with Romania restricted the access of many Romanian citizens to the Republic of Moldova. Hundreds of European citizens including students, artists and scientists or official delegates from county councils were told to go back without any explanation. I label this situation as especially grave which seriously hits Moldova’s relations both with Romania and European Union. I ask to be emergently informed who ordered these travel interdictions, who executed the order and what regulations of national and European legal framework prevailed? I ask competent state bodies to investigate the case and punish the persons who violated the freedom of circulation of hundreds of citizens who hold European passports, in line with legislation in effect. MAE about PCRM “internationalism”

The social-political “Actiunea Europeana” (European Action) Movement (MAE) signals a grave abuse by Moldovan customs officers who obstructed two Romanian bands to enter the Republic of Moldova without any legal excuse. The bands were expected to perform a concert during a MAE-organised meeting in Causeni. The two Romanian bands had all necessary documents to enter Moldova, inclusively a contract signed with MAE representatives to perform a concert in front of Causeni residents. However, customs authorities at the Leuseni border station summoned them to go back, obstructing them abusively to enter Moldova. MAE condemns this clear abuse of Moldovan customs officers servile to the communist governing and police practices implemented by the PCRM in the last eight years. “It is a clamant case that two Romanian bands travelling to Moldova to perform a concert on the basis of a contract were obstructed to cross the border of a European state. We have all reasons to believe that this action was ordered by the PCRM, a party which is clearly troubled by the MAE fight against corruption and communism in the republic.” (Source: MAE press release)
