Two more people have submitted the documents for registration by the municipal electoral council as candidates for the position of general mayor of Chsinau.

Mr. Valeriu Poia intends to compete as independent candidate and Mr. Mircea Rusu as candidate representing the party “Our Moldova Alliance”.

As leader of National Liberal Party, Mircea Rusu competed for the position of general mayor of Chsinau in 1999 when he accumulated 2.77% (5732 votes).

During the elections for the position of the general mayor of Chisinau scheduled for July 10, 2005 Valeriu Poia expressed his intention to participate as candidate but finally refrained to do it.

So far, five electoral contestants for the position of general mayor of Chisinau have been registered, other four waiting to be registered by the end of this week.
