CEC further denies the biased information

Central Electoral Commission presented additional statistical data on early parliamentary elections of November 28, 2010 in order to clarify the issues previously raised by some media outlets. According to CEC information, in the parliamentary elections of November 28, 2010:

PLDM — PDM negotiations

PLDM leader, Vlad Filat and deputy chairmen of the party, Alexandru Tanase and Mihai Godea, met with the PDM leader, Marian Lupu, PDM Chairman of Honour, Dumitru Diacov and PDM candidate, Vlad Plahotniuc. The meeting took place in a restaurant and according to declarations they discussed the post-election situation in Moldova, the prospects for the future.

Institute of CIS Countries is not satisfied with the elections in Moldova

Experts from the Institute of CIS Countries considers that early parliamentary elections in Moldova did not lead to overcoming the political crisis, and the electoral campaign and organisation of the voting process have abounded of violations and abuses of administrative resources. Experts draw attention that Electoral Code was amended by less than half a year before the elections in favour of ruling parties, despite the recommendations of the Venice Commission, and the political propaganda of those opposing the PCRM sometimes surpassed the limits and even called for revenge .It also pointed out to the large number of voters who have voted abroad in Western Europe, while in Russia, at some polling stations, there were not allocated sufficient number of ballots (at the polling station in Moscow additional 150 ballots were needed). Train Basescu’s statements are criticized

Prime Minister of Moldova, Vladimir Filat, expressed his disagreement with the statement made by Romanian President Traian Basescu on possible union of the two countries within the European Union. In an interview by the President Basescu for the newspaper “Romania Libera” it was mentioned that “there is a temporary perspective — 25 years — when Romania and Moldova might unite”. Moldovan Prime Minister declared in this regard that the Republic of Moldova as a sovereign and independent state will further remain completely independent.

WikiLeaks achieve Moldova too

According to a document published on the website www.wikileaks.com, on 7th of September 2009 Vladimir Voronin, then acting president, would have proposed $ 10,000,000 to the leader of the Democratic Party of Moldova, Marian Lupu, to form a centre-left coalition. The information makes reference to the documents in the secret correspondence of the American diplomatic mission, declassified by the directors of this website and contains notes of U.S. Ambassador to Moldova, who refers to the statements made by PDM and PCRM leaders, but they have denied the veracity of this information, and the US diplomatic mission declared it does not comment such information. PCRM submits requirements to CEC

The Part of Communists of the Republic of Moldova filed a contestation with the Central Electoral Commission challenging the errors of electoral bodies, including the CEC, committed in the parliamentary elections of November 28, 2010. According to PCRM, the contestation comes with about 200 minutes made by the electoral bureaus of polling stations with serious errors, as well as complaints, clarifications, territorial contestations on about 100 pages. PCRM considers that CEC has made many falsifications in the process of counting the votes, which could affect the accuracy of the final electoral results, and in this sense, makes several requests (to repair the errors; to verify the additionally voter lists; to check the people who voted with voting certificate; to verify the ballots that were declared invalid; to declare the invalidity of the votes cast on A4 paper; to recount the votes cast for PCRM and PLDM etc).
