The CEC of Gagauzia set the voting procedure for students and conscripts

At the elections of Bashkan, students will vote at their places of residence, while conscripts will be able to exercise their right to vote within their military units. The announcement has been made at a meeting of the Central Electoral Commission of Gagauzia. CEC chairman Valentin Cara said that the elections will take place during a weekend, so students will be able to return home. In their turn, commanders of military units shall request access to ballot boxes for the military. // gagauzmedia.md

The PSD launched negotiations with candidates for Bashkan

The Social Democratic Party of Moldova (PSD) launched negotiations with candidates for the position of Bashkan of Gagauzia. The party intends to identify a candidate that will be offered support. Social democrats will insist that this candidate sign an agreement, assuming responsibility for promises. The PSD believes that such an agreement will guarantee that the candidate will fulfill the promises made to the region’s population. // gagauzmedia.md

Dmitrii Croitor registered as a candidate for Bashkan

The CEC of Gagauzia registered one more candidate for the position of the autonomy’s Governor — Dmitrii Croitor. The decision has been made at today’s meeting of the CEC.

After the verification of the supporter signature sheets presented by the candidate, 250 signatures were invalidated, and 1,515 were validated. Beginning today, the candidate has the right to officially conduct his campaign. // gagauz.md

A group of Members of the PAG and the socialists of Gagauzia expressed their support for Dmitrii Croitor

A group of Members of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia (PAG), headed by PAG chairman Dmitrii Constantinov, and representatives of the Party of Socialists in the autonomy announced that they would support former Bashkan Dmitrii Croitor in these elections. The announcement was made at a briefing on Wednesday, 4 February. Thus, speaker Dmitrii Constantinov said that out of all candidates, Dmitrii Croitor is the most worthy for this high office.

Igor Croitor, the leader of Gagauz socialists, also said that his party’s territorial organization would support Dmitrii Croitor in the elections of Bashkan. // gagauzmedia.md

Serghei Cimpoes will not register as a candidate for Bashkan

Serghei Cimpoes, one of the contenders for the position of Governor of the Gagauz autonomy, withdrew from the electoral race. The politician made this announcement at a briefing in Comrat.

“I insist on publicly declaring that as a result of some events that you all know I decided not to participate as a candidate for Bashkan. Thus, I join my friends, members of the PAG, in support of Dmitrii Croitor. It is for the benefit of Gagauzia,” Serghei Cimpoes said. // gagauzinfo.md
