The order of the first eight contenders for the position of Bashkan in ballots

The contenders for the autonomy’s Governor office drew the envelopes with sequence numbers in the order in which they submitted to the Central Electoral Commission of Gagauzia (CECG) their documents and supporter signature sheets. Thus, the first position in ballots has been drawn by Valery Yanioglo, the second position — by Sergey Buzadji, and the third — by Ruslan Garbaly. The fourth position in ballots went to Nikolai Dudoglo, and the fifth — to Oleg Kayky. Further, Irina Vlah drew the sixth position, followed by Oleg Garizan (number seven) and Alexandr Stoianoglo (number eight).

According to sources within the CECG, when the other candidates submit documents and supporter signature sheets, a similar draw will be organized for them as well.

The CECG is now to verify the supporter signature sheets and the signatures of the region’s residents. If no irregularities are found, the contenders to the position of Bashkan will officially become candidates. The CECG has registered 13 initiative groups that will be collecting signatures in support of their candidates. The necessary number of signatures to register a candidate has been set by law within the limits from at least 1.5 thousand to at most 2 thousand, and the minimum number of signatures collected in one locality has been reduced to 100.

The first round of elections for the Bashkan of TAU Gagauz-Yeri will take place on 22 March 2015. If necessary, a second round will be organized on 5 April. // gagauzinfo.md
