RM monitored
On January 30, 2005 raporteurs of the PACE’s Monitoring Commission of the RM, Josette Durrieu and Andre Kvakkestad have started their documentation visit to RM. As part of the visit they met parliamentary ombudsmen, NGO representatives, leaders of parliamentary factions, CEC leadership, as well as the country leadership. The raporteurs stated that electoral campaign was not the only issue on their agenda, but it was definitely of great interest.
High on the agenda was election coverage in mass-media. Noteworthy, Council of Europe would have a special observation mission in then upcoming parliamentary elections.
PCRM candidate died
On January 30, 2005 Mr. Gheorghe Benderschi died. He was candidate no. 38 on then PCRM candidate list.
