Democratic Party of Moldova nominated candidate Marian Lupu, filed to the Central Electoral Commission the subscription lists for presidential elections. His initiative group collected the signatures of about 29 thousand citizens. According to the press service of the party, Marian Lupu said that the party managed to collect signatures in a very short time thanks to the mobilization demonstrated by the party in the very first day of the election period.

CEC will verify the documents presented by DPM, including lists with signatures and will decide registration of the candidate to enter the electoral race.

Central Electoral Commission has registered another 5 initiative groups to collect signatures in support of candidates for President of Moldova:

• Ion Dron, independent candidate;
• Valeriu Ghiletchi, independent candidate;
• Ana Gutu, candidate nominated by the “Right” Party;
• Oleg Brega, independent candidate;
• Roman Mihaes, independent candidate.

CEC issued identification cards to the members of initiative groups and subscription lists forms to collect signatures in support of candidates for president.
