ENEMO mission presented its conclusions regarding the quality of November 13 elections

Observers from the European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations (ENEMO) believe that the second round election day was generally well organized. However the mission identified some violations and shortcomings. ENEMO mission observers stated in a press conference, that: “the national legal framework is quite well organized to be able to carry out democratic elections, however the Election Code is vague in some specific situations.” // deschide.md

Igor Dodon: I organized 560 protests in the last four years, so do not play with fire

President elect, Igor Dodon, speaking in a press conference urged both political opponents and the Moldovan population to stay calm. This statement was made after groups of young people gathered to protest on November 14 and 15, expressing their dissatisfaction with the results of the presidential election. Igor Dodon said that “Tens and hundreds of people are calling me and asking when should they come to protest, but I do not want to do this. I am calling people to keep calm. My dear supporters, no one goes protesting until I tell you. But if I will, do not play with fire”. // IPN

Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) launched an online petition to declare the election null

The leader of Action and Solidarity Party, Maia Sandu urges citizens to sign an online petition to declare null the November 13 election. Maia Sandu also urges the Moldovan diaspora who did not manage to vote on the e-day due to the polling stations running out of ballots, as well as all those who have evidence of violations committed on e-day, to write to the following email address: alegerifraudate2016@gmail.com. // IPN

PLDM and PLR: in the second round there were illegalities

Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM) and the Liberal Reformist Party (PLR) issued two press releases, stating that during presidential elections runoffs several infringements of the electoral law have been observed. Furthermore PLR mentioned that they have received with a great concern the results of the two rounds of presidential election and hence do not recognize these. // tribuna.md
