CEC stresses the fact that campaigning is prohibited on e-day and the day before it

Central Election Commission (CEC) has issued a warning that today, November 11 is the last day when candidates have the right to carry-out electoral propaganda. According to the Electoral Code, art. 47 paragraph 8, campaigning is prohibited on election day and the day preceding it. During these days it is prohibited to conduct / or broadcast about the activities / materials related to campaigning nor are candidates allowed to appear on TV and radio.

Igor Dodon made his final conclusions with regard to the campaign

Presidential candidate Igor Dodon, has concluded with regard to this election campaign saying that he is sure about his decisive victory in the second round of elections. “PSRM has carried out over ten thousand electoral meetings throughout the country, attended by over four hundred thousand citizens. The first round of elections showed that people want a change and a candidate of the leftist opposition who is not and was not part of oligarchic leadership from 2009 onwards. All we need for the final victory is to mobilize again, all our voters, and then victory will be assured,” said the politician. // IPN

Maia Sandu has repeatedly announced her priorities for the Presidency

In the last day when candidates still have the right to campaign, candidate Maia Sandu has repeatedly announced her priorities within a press conference. She reassured her voters that she will be an active and involved president, that will spend more time talking with citizens than state institutions and that she aims to take Moldova out of “coma” and bring the society to a level when it will be possible to talk about development projects in Moldova. // IPN

Igor Dodon and Maia Sandu “forgot” to report some expenditures from the first round

Socialist presidential candidate Igor Dodon, “forgot” to report spending of at least 2.24 million lei in the first round of the presidential elections of October 30. In the same time, PAS candidate, Maia Sandu, has not reported an amount of about 128 000 lei for the first round of elections. These infringements have been pointed out in the fifth report produced by the Promo-LEX Election Observation Mission. // realitatea.md

CCA sanctioned seven TV channels for disseminating of false information

Broadcasting Coordinating Council (CCA) fined seven television stations with 5,400 lei each and issued public warnings for two other TV stations. Sanctions were applied with regard to unbalanced coverage in favor of some candidates and dissemination of false information about others, these facts being mentioned in the third media monitoring report produced by CCA covering the period of October 20 to 30. Thus CCA applied the highest fine to the following TV stations: Prime TV, Channel 3, Channel 2, Publika TV, Jurnal TV, Moldova Accent TV and NTV. The TV stations TV7 and Ren Moldova were sanctioned with public warnings. // Unimedia

Presidential candidates have signed a declaration of integrity

Following a proposal from civil society representatives, the two presidential candidates, Igor Dodon and Maia Sandu signed a declaration of integrity, during a live broadcasting at the public TV channel Moldova 1. According to the document the signing parties declare that they do not have integrity problems, that they were not involved in corruption, they have not collaborated with the national secret services of those of other states. // noi.md
