Igor Dodon: Moldovan President has no powers to change the geopolitical vector

During an interview for Radio Free Europe, socialists’ leader, Igor Dodon spoke about the powers Moldovan president has in the field of foreign policy. “The president does not have the authority to neither shift the geopolitical vector, nor suspend or terminate agreements. Yes, I am for a strategic partnership and good relations with the Russian Federation. Why? It is because we need the Russian market and we need to solve the issues that our hundreds of thousands of migrants face in the Russian Federation. But this does not mean that you have to establish an iron curtain on the Prut river. We can not afford this because in the European Union we also have hundreds of thousands of Moldovans working there, and also we have exports to the European Union. The partnership should continue”. // Free Europe
