Andrei Nastase was registered as a candidate for president

The candidate nominated by the “Dignity and Truth” Platform, Andrei Nastase, was registered as a candidate for President of the Republic of Moldova. The CEC registered his electoral symbol, confirmed candidate’s representative and the person in charge of his campaign finances.

CEC accredited observers to monitor presidential elections

Central Electoral Commission adopted several decisions on the accreditation of national and international observers to monitor the election of the President of October 30, 2016. The Commission has accredited two international electoral experts from the Permanent Electoral Authority of Romania, six international observers from the Embassy of Hungary in Moldova and 5 international observers from the Swedish Embassy in Moldova. There were also accredited 667 national observers from “Promo-LEX” to monitor the presidential elections. // Tribuna

Maia Sandu: one of Plahotniuc’s “aces in the sleeve” is Igor Dodon

Maia Sandu, nominated candidate for president, argues that the Socialist Party of Moldova Igor Dodon is one of the “aces in the sleeve” of Vladimir Plahotniuc in the presidential elections of 2016. “Dodon, like Plahotniuc, is a product of the communist government, but today pretends to be innocent. Dodon, who worked as public official with low wages has managed to gather a great wealth. He must tell us how he managed this. Let him make public his assets declarations since 2005 when he obtained his first public office. He also must explain us where from he had MDL 27 million to spend last year for political activities”, wrote Maia Sandu on her facebook page. // Unimedia

Igor Dodon reaction to Maia Sandu statements

The Socialist Party nominee for President of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon, reacted to the statements of PAS president, Maia Sandu on the “aces” in Plahotniuc’s sleeve. Dodon has answered on facebook: “I would like to remember to Maia Sandu that she was in alliance with Filat, Plahotniuc and Ghimpu and took advantage of the circumstances as much as she could. Now she takes advantage again, as a «dissident» this time, as «opposition» to the system were she belonged and signed with her own hand the money transfer from BNM by BEM”. Regarding his income and assets declarations, Igor Dodon said all statements have been presented in accordance with the law. // Unimedia
