Parliament refused to examine the draft bill on student vote

The draft bill affirming students’ right to vote in the locality where they study was not included on the agenda of the Parliament session. The bill was supported only by PLDM and PL factions, as well as former PLDM members of the parliament. The initiative belongs to independent MPs Valeriu Ghiletchi, Gheorghe Mocanu and Mihaela Spatari and provides amending the Electoral Code so that students and pupils are allowed to vote across in the town where they pursue their studies, the same way it has been done in the 2014 parliamentary elections. // Unimedia

A group of young people protested the CEC because they can not vote at their place of study

Many young people and students protested in front of the Central Election Commission, showing their dissatisfaction with the decision to forbid them to vote at their place of study. Young people chanted “We want to vote!”, “My vote counts.” After meeting with the young protesters, Central Election Commission (CEC) announced in a press release that it asks the administration of educational institutions to analyze possibilities for providing residence to and pupils students that are of voting age. // deschide.md

Renato Usatii and the Russo-Slavic Party of Moldova urged their supporters to vote for Igor Dodon

Leader of “Our Party” Renato Usatii announced on Facebook that he supports Igor Dodon in the second round. Usatii said that this is a tough choice for him, since people are divided again into — right or left, but he can not support Maia Sandu because “she is an American project that would protect Plahotniuc”. Similarly, during a press conference, representatives of the Russo-Slavic Party of Moldova (PRSM) declared their support for the socialist candidate Igor Dodon.  // IPN

Dumitru Ciubasenco announced its position towards the socialist candidate

“Our Party” presidential candidate Dumitru Ciubasenco has put forward his conditions for supporting Igor Dodon in the second round. In a message posted on his facebook page, Ciubasenco accused the socialist leader of being in cahoots with PDM first deputy chair, Vlad Plahotniuc and that the he rigged election results in favor of Dodon. However, Ciubasenco said that he could support the Socialists’ leader if he withdraws the request for an international search of PN leader, Renato Usatii and if he is ready to dissolve the parliament and hold early parliamentary elections. // Ziarul de Garda

Artists and scientists launched a call to support of Maia Sandu

At a press conference, several representatives of creative unions and scientists have called on citizens to support Action and Solidarity Party candidate, Maia Sandu. The appeal was launched and supported by the Writers’ Union, Composers and Musicologists Union, Cinematographers’ Union, Union of Architects, the Union of Plastic Artists, Theatre Union, Journalists’ Union, the PEN Center, and the Chisinau branch of the Writers Union of Romania. // IPN

Pro TV Chisinau carried out the first debates with candidates Igor Dodon and Maia Sandu

Presidential candidates Maia Sandu and Igor Dodon, have faced each other in the first electoral debate. Both candidates had questions they did not want to answer and both candidates accused each other of false answers. Their statements were made during the electoral debates at “Pro TV Chisinau” station. // deschide.md
