Voters new place of residence can be presented until September 29, 2016

According to a press release, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) informs that voters may submit a declaration about their new place of residence until September 29, 2016.

Thus, to vote at another polling station than that ascribed according to the recorded place of residence, the voter may submit a declaration of residence to the local authority in the town where they intend to vote. This statement should be filed in person at the presentation of the identity card in original and copy. However, CEC notes that statements made in previous elections are no longer valid.

“Ravnopravie” Socio-political Movement nominated its candidate for President

At a press conference, the Socio-political Movement “Ravnopravie” announced that Inna Popenco, a doctor by profession, is their candidate for President of the Republic. This nomination was approved inclusively by the mayor of Orhei, Ilan Sor. The decision was adopted by the party after the September 6 protest organized in support of Ilan Sor, when an initiative group of residents of Orhei submitted the proposal to nominate a popular candidate for president.

Democrats launched two information campaigns

According to a press release, the Democratic Party of Moldova launches two awareness campaigns: the first entitled “Together we are stronger”, will promote the benefits of a closer relation with EU for Moldovan citizens. A second campaign is a national debate about the necessary changes in Moldovan politics. PDM has launched www.nouapolitica.md website where citizens are invited to express their views on the current political system in Moldova.
