CEC registered two initiative groups to collect signatures of support

Central Electoral Commission (CEC) recorded two initiative groups to collect signatures in support of candidates for President of Moldova:

Mihai Ghimpu submitted to the CEC subscription lists for presidential elections

Liberal Party candidate for President of Moldova, Mihai Ghimpu, presented to the Central Electoral Commission petitions containing about 27 thousand signatures collected in support of his candidacy.

According to the CEC, within seven days from the filing date, the Commission should examine the documents, verify the petitions submitted and decide on registration or refusal to register the nominated candidate for elections.

CEC approved the Regulation on electoral campaign coverage in mass media

According to a press release, the document approved by the Central Electoral Commission aims to ensure fair, balanced and impartial coverage of the electoral campaign for the presidential elections of 30 October 2016 by the broadcasters promoting freedom of expression and political pluralism, establishing binding rules for the application of these principles by broadcasters on the one hand and candidates, on the other hand.

PSRM calls for opening more polling stations in the Russian Federation

PSRM candidate for President of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon, calls authorities to open 159 polling stations in the Russian Federation in accordance with the proportional number of Moldavian voters established there. According to him, the rights of these citizens are limited and the results of the presidential elections will be seriously affected by the lack of votes from the diaspora. // Adevarul
