Electoral news from PL

Vadim Vacarciuc was nominated the candidate of Liberal Party (PL) for the local elections of June 5 for the City Hall of Balti. Currently Vacarciuc holds the position of Vice Chairman of PL territorial organization in Balti, he is a performance athlete, and his sports record includes the title of world champion and European vice champion in weightlifting.

The car of PL candidate to mayor position in the city Straseni, Valentina Casian, was burned on the night of Sunday to Monday in the courtyard of the block of flats. According to the released information, the firemen confirmed that it should be excluded the hypothesis of a technical failure that would caused the fire. Casian says that after she announced that she will run for mayor office in Straseni, from the Liberal Party, she was directly threatened by one of the potential rivals, and believes that the car burning is a demonstration of hostile intentions by political opponents. PL leadership consider as undignified the intimidation of the candidate for Straseni mayor, since the legal and ethical norms were violated.

Liberal Party will promote 100 young people in local elections who will run for mayor office. “Young liberal candidates” is a project launched by the youth organization of PL in partnership with Friedrich Naumann Foundation (Germany) and is aiming at training and promoting 100 young candidates for mayor office, at making use of the potential and innovative ideas that will be implemented in the social-political life of Moldova. On 8–10 April, a training seminar was organized for young liberals, who will run for mayoralties of the country.
